At the Institute for Human Biology, we presently seem to be "lonely scientific callers" in a dramatically overspecialised academic "desert". We cannot build on any relevant education nor on any comprehensive literature that would already be there.

Therefore, at the Institute for Human Biology, we create and structure the comprehensive intellectual content and the basic didactics of an education in Functional and Human Biology from scratch.

At the IHB, we do not intend to become an educational academy. Our primary educational goal is to create a comprehensive educanal program as such. However, we presently educate a limited number of selected students at the IHB, whom we tutor in Functional and Human Biology life one-on-one online internationally in personalised sessions.

Our Educational Vision

We intend to hand over the actual educating to interested competent educational institutions by assisting them to build-up their own novel Faculties of Functional and Human Biology, which first requires to educate their educators.

We envision the fundamental encompassing rational human life science Human Biology being available to a broad public so that it eventually becomes a practically most beneficial collective common knowledge of human biological life skills and functionally optimal physical and social environments.

What you must bring along

Human Biology is certainly intensive but it is not difficult to study. It is a consequently logical natural science. Hence, there isn't much you must learn by heart, most of it you can rationally understand.

However, studying Human Biology may be personally challenging because there may be quite a few learned non-rational social, academic, and religious conventions, dogmas, judgments, and beliefs with respect to us humans, to human behaviour, and to our species Homo sapiens, which you may have to overcome personally.

To create your personal understanding of the biology of being human requires persistence, self-awareness, an independent critical mindset, and the courage to disagree with some collective conventions, some academic authorities and celebrities, and floods of academic articles and papers. It requires a strong motivation.

Motivation

The motivation you must bring along is an insatiable curiosity about the greater dynamic context of Nature, about our own integral species (humanity), and the desire to understand "what makes you tick - and why" personally as a human.

You must enjoy to think logically consequent, critically, and non-judgmentally. You must have a strong intent to improve your own quality of life and that of people around you, of society, and ultimately of humanity as a whole.

The motivation to sit through a Human Biology education in order to subsequently shine socially with an exotic certificate of education or an academic title does not qualify ...

Knowledge Background

Ideally, you bring along a harmonised polymath knowledge of the basics of the natural sciences Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Earth sciences - about grade 12 of a broad general education.

This is no absolute requirement. As long as you are interested in these natural sciences, we pick you up where you are in terms of relevant knowledge. On the other hand, if you are not at least interested in these sciences, you can't comprehend Human Biology.

A higher education is not required nor would it be particularly useful, since the basics of Functional and Human Biology are presently no part of any higher academic education, on which you could build your understanding.

Education Fees

As a not-for-profit organisation, our dedicated goal is to provide a most affordable education possible with a highest possible educational value. We cannot educate you completely free of charge but do our best to tailor the fees to your possibilities.

We charge per lesson, our fee becomes due only with a delivered lesson. You do not need to commit to any number of lessons, nor to complete the entire education. This allows you to set your own pace of learning as we go and to avoid the devastating long-term burden of educational loans.
